Opening up the package, we have this blue box with the product name on it. It also displays some specifications. Inside the box, we get the earbuds themselves, already in the case, an extremely long user manual which you should definitely read, and a couple of ear tips. I had to go with the smallest ear tips cos the rest wouldn’t fit. You may have noticed that there’s no charging cable in the box. Let’s put these aside and take a look at the case itself.
This is a beautiful case with some neat finishing. The earbuds come preinstalled in the case, and you would have to get rid of these plastic tapes that protect the charging pins.
The entire device and case are made of plastic. But it is of good material and feels comfortable to the touch. With a total weight of 35.4g, it is fairly light. Unfortunately, the case is not scratch-resistant so I wouldn’t recommend keeping this in the same pocket as your keys. Speaking of pockets, this thing in its case is small enough to fit the inner pocket in your jeans pocket. I’m sure I’ve heard the name of that pocket at some time. I believe it’s called the watch pocket.
A single press of the button will pause or play the current music and a double press will access your phone’s assistant. That’s google assistant in my case. I doubt this will work with iPhones but I haven’t tried it yet so, I could be wrong. Factory reset is also available but pressing and holding the same button for about 15 secs. Place it back in the case for about 2 secs to get both of them in sync and when you take them out, they’ll work like new.
In terms of audio quality, it sounds quite good, I must admit. I was expecting it to have annoyingly flat audio like the TWS apple clone air pods in the video in the card up here. But it is not flat. The 7.2mm audio driver helps to produce deep bass and high-quality stereo audio. There’s a noticeable amount of bass in the audio which is good enough in my opinion.
For comfortability, it fits quite neatly in my ears. I had to go with the smallest ear tips and it does require some getting used to, to fully get comfortable with it. The first few minutes wearing these were not comfortable at all, but after a while, I actually loved it. And they stay fully flushed in my ears to the point that I can take off my shirts without either of them, coming off.
Unlike other earbuds, this comes with a Split Body Design which means both or any of these can connect directly to your device. That way, they are both almost always in sync. On cheaper and poorly made earbuds, one of them becomes the main earbud that connects to your device, while the secondary earbud, connects to the main one. And sometimes, most, if not all your controls are accessible on the main earbud. Since both are connected to your device, they can pick up automatic boot, automatically shut down, and charge.
It comes with Bluetooth v5.0, which consumes less power and offers a longer operating range with lesser impact from Wi-Fi signals. Well that’s fancy and all, and don’t get me wrong, it does travel far, but I noticed that at some point if I cover an earbud with my hand, the signal drops for a while. Sometimes, it’s when the phone is put in my pocket.
It lasts for about 4 hours but with a 300mAh charging case, we should expect about a 12-hour duration on battery. Fortunately, both the earbuds charge quite quickly. I got about 60% battery life by just charging it in the case for about 7 mins. But unfortunately, the case does not. We expect about an hour and half hours for a full charge.
I don’t like the way it charges. Don’t get me wrong, it charges fine. But I don’t get how you can’t charge the earbuds and the case at the same time. Countless times, I’ve had to go to sleep, leaving the earbuds in the case, plugging the case to a wall outlet, seeing the indication that it’s charging, and when I wake up in the morning, going for a jog and the earbuds are completely dead. Like how?
It happened continuously for a while until I noticed that to charges both the case and earbuds, you need to first connect the case, take the earbuds out, and then place them back in again. With that, the charging indicator on the earbuds themselves stays on throughout.
