Opening up the opening, we get the tab on top. We also get some user manuals and beneath that, is a solid case for protection. The packaging is quite simple. We also get the sim ejector tool taped to the box. Also, inside the box is the USB type C charging cable, a pair of earphones, and the charging brick.
As you can clearly see, there isn’t any form of anti-glossy finish on the screen, making it super reflective.
On the left are the power button, microphone and volume rockers, the sim tray and the USB Type C charging port. The back houses the dual camera and led flash. The bottom houses the connecting pins for an external keyboard and trackpad.
It literally took 37 secs to boot up to the home screen.
I got the keyboard and mouse pad which is sold separately. The unboxing experience is about as basic. Nothing too fancy or special. The keyboard features a full set of keys for typing, with the exception of the Numpad. The key travel is just fine for the light weight and size, but more on the keyboard later.
The screen is also bright and super vibrant, especially indoors.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive Android tablet that you can have on your desk, sit in front of, and get some work done, this tab should be on the list of tablets to consider.
The bigger screen allows for a number of multitasking features, which I enjoy a lot. The YouTube app even opens up like how it does on a web browser on a computer.
For specifications, we’re looking at 6000mAh on the battery size. 128GB of internal storage with 4GB of ram, which in today’s standard, doesn’t look like much. It’s rocking a quad-core processor with peak performance at 2.0GHz. There’s also the Hope 10 Pro, which comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The battery remains the same though, but I wouldn’t recommend it. If you have the extra cash, get the Plus variant, you know, the higher spec one.
Supports 4G LTE connectivity. It supports Dual Sim on standby. Running on Android 11 (Go edition). Like what I said in the Samsung A2 Core review, the Go edition cuts off all the necessary bloatware apps that usually run in the background, thereby slowing down the device. So even though, it’s having just 4GB of ram for this tablet size, I’m still expecting some improved performance.
The display is a 10.1-inch HD IPS Touchscreen Display with a disappointing 1280 x 800px resolution. I say disappointing because, with a big screen size like this, at least, the least should have been 1080p resolution. Although this display is slightly better than a 720p resolution, 1080p would have done it for me.
The camera up front is 5MP and an 8.0MP rear camera with flash
The keyboard is flexible and quite durable as it would seem, even though it’s just 8.9mm thin.
Attaching the tab to the keyboard is as simple as placing the tab in the extended case that the keyboard comes with. For my testing, all the keys work fine and I had no issues with a single key malfunctioning. Same thing with the touchpad.
